The show

“River is the story of a house.

A house in a garden at the bottom of which a river flows.

It’s a large old house that has belonged to the same family for several generations. So many generations that it’s as though it has always been theirs.

This house has been lived in and, consequently, the house, the garden and the river are now more than just ordinary places. They are places imbued with memories.

A few hours from now this house will be sold and another family will come and live in it, giving rise to new stories and new memories.

But, in the meantime, those who are here have come to say goodbye to this place that will soon exist only in their memories.”

River is a “story in dance” that revolves around a starting point, the sale of a family home that contains its secrets, its stories and its memories.

In order to devise this, Michèle Anne De Mey has used several audition sessions to select a multi-discipline cast of actors, dancers and circus performers to incarnate the members of this family.

Following her intention to bring together various disciplines and worlds, she has surrounded herself with an experienced creative team.
