The show
Based on the only fragment found of Arianna, the unfinished opera by Monteverdi, Michèle Anne De Mey has created for her longstanding colleague – the exceptional performer Gabriella Iacono – a tailor-made choreographic score. Adopting the premise of faithful transposition of the text, she gives a powerful performance as an Ariadne devastated by abandonment and betrayal. A poignant work that revisits the codes of ancient tragedy in order to propel them into our contemporary environment better.
